In The Talons of Hope
Writing, it is always good when it happens. For months I have been able to daily create this blog post, but I have not been able to edit a manuscript, or do any contemplative writing. I have been really ok with that. I realize there is a season, a time and place…and I haven’t been in that season. I am grateful that this blog has not been a part of that hiatus.
Last week with a greater amount of solitude and dedicated time, it was like I had a window of creativity open. I had the opportunity to write, it flowed – I worked on one of the manuscripts, I wrote a contemplation for the other blog, in fact two, and I began a daily participation in PiBoIdMo.
PiBoIdMo is Picture Book Idea Month. Every day I am committing to dedicating time to writing ideas for picture books, creating characters, and possible outlines, so that by the end of November, I will theoretically have 30 ideas for picture book manuscripts. One might ask if you haven’t been able to write lately, why would you bite off such an endeavor, and I would probably answer, I don’t know. I don’t know why I bit off a daily blog for 2012 either. What I do know though, is that the concept of just writing ideas seemed less threatening than writing a novel or a picture book, and thus far it is working. I am grateful.
All that to say, and so this haiku.
Blessings to each of you today.
