Friends’ Friday 42
I am so excited to share with a you a little story about meeting a haiku-friend through this blog. As many of you know I was playing along with Rick Daddario’s 30-days of haiga in September. Through that blog, Francina who lives in Holland began to communicate with me about haiku and poetry. This past week she made a comment about Blue Marsh which I thought was funny. Blue Marsh for those of you who do not know is a man-made lake in Berks County, PA created to control the waters coming from New York and central Pennsylvania. You might remember that I take photos at Blue Marsh often. So I wrote to Francina and asked about “which” Blue Marsh she was talking. To my delight and surprise, and hers as well, she told me that she lived very close to Blue Marsh Lake about 14 years ago, “near the road to nowhere” (which is now a road to somewhere). After further conversation we found out that she lived about four blocks from where I live today. I love synchronicity, the small-worldness, and having friends from all over the world. I am grateful for these friends that I have met through this blog.
The bonus to this story is that Francina shared several of her haiku with us on the 42nd Friends’ Friday. I encourage you to check out her blog at: http://wp.me/P1Wszb-5 (http://seasonspoetry.com). Francina, so grateful for your willingness to share.
