Peek-A-Boo

It is so much fun to see how a simple game of peek-a-boo with a young child can light up the hearts of everyone in the room.  I had that privilege to watch that happen this morning – and it was a gift to see heavy hearts have a lovely moment of joy.  It was a gift to see a young child (feel so safe and secure in her relationship with her parents) play with the hearts of “strangers” in the room.  I joined those with my own heart being graced by her joy.   I am so glad we have opportunities to experience the joys of the youngest of hearts.

The quote from Roald Dahl (one of my favorite children’s writers, by the way) in the background was shared the other day on Facebook.  I thought it was very appropriate to incorporate here – just for fun, I played with creative integration.  The quote, if you can’t read it is: “If you have good thoughts, they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.”

I hope today is a day where you have a moment to experience that joy, whether it is through the game of peek-a-boo with a child, a conversation with a friend, or the quietness of your own connected heart.  Blessings today.

    • Thanks Francina…I smiled several times today thinking of this small world…appreciate your feedback always…each writing is like a step of new learning for me…

      • Indeed , Kris, when reading and writing poetry it feels one is continuously in a learning process. That is what makes poetry so very interesting, besides that it gives much room for a reader’s own imagination .

      • Yes! Learning to be confident. I began this journey a year ago on an in the moment whim….not knowing anything about poetry, except free verse. I have been so enjoying the challenge, the learning, the growth, and on most days, the fun of it all, but admittedly, what I am growing in is the confidence in the process – it is changing…I know at times the “lack of” leaks out…smile…

Would love to hear from you...
