September Postcard

A friend and I were driving up the turnpike the other day and she noticed all of these hot air balloons.  The sky was speckled with balloons – camera was in hand – yeah – aren’t they beautiful?  I think often how serene it must be to have such a view, and yet I am afraid of outdoor heights.  Oh well, I can imagine.  Rick Daddario’s prompt for today was “earth honor”…and this haiku is where it led me in thought.  I hope you enjoy.

If you are on the east coast of the US, hold on tight today – the winds are so strong.  I keep watching the trees.

  1. oh. beautiful image and ku Kris. i like this. that is a great balloon shot. (i had a painting friend in school who painted hot air balloon paintings – this would be a choice image to work from..)

really fine connection between ku and image too (imo) – it all takes place in the reader’s mind. neither one illustrate or describe the other yet the connection between image and ku is crystal clear. i like that a lot. and we see the image in our mind so clearly. a nice touch that the balloons have a patchwork pattern sense too.

choice. and well done (imo). cool. aloha.

Would love to hear from you...
