Life Lessons
Good day to each of you. I am continuing to dabble with Rick Daddario’s prompts through the month of September. Today’s prompt is: “a return”. The photo of the family was taken at the beach, and the spiral is a wooden door found near 14th street in Manhattan. I was hoping sometime to be able to integrate the spirals on the door – a cool door, and a cool picture. Anyways, I hope you enjoy.
Blessings, today.

How true! Very cool integration!
Thanks, Peg. Always appreciate your observations.
Lovely Kris!
Thanks, Jeannie.
aloha Kris – thank you for continuing to play with haiga – and to connect it up to 30 Days of Haiga.
this is a cool image. i like the way you’ve combined the two photos. the ripple effect of the door – something about that brings a sense of “returning” to me. maybe it has to do with the way those kinds of ripples in water with say a pebble being dropped into a pond… the water seems to settle, bringing about a sense of returning to the stillness of the pond. in that sense i see this image as an excellent match up to the ku.
the ku… i think i understand what you are getting at with the ku. the double use of the word “us” … i’m not so sure about. for me it breaks up the flow a bit as i read the ku – maybe it doesnt do that for others. i wonder if there is another ways to get at what you are saying in the ku so you wouldnt have to use the double “us”?
using a word twice in a ku is okay as i see it. in fact sometimes it can be a lot of fun. or if there is a good reason that is okay too. i think it’s more the flow that i’m thinking of here. . .
i like the placement and read-ability of the ku. i still struggle with that at times. and of course sometimes the finished work – or the intent of what the finished work is to be can make a difference in read-ability too. fun things to think about. thank you – and fun on – aloha.
Hi Rick … Welcome the input…rewriting for practice. I read te poem many times and believe it or not, I never noticed the double us…lots to learn, thanks so much.
