As I Watch

It was an eerie kind of experience.  We were on the 12th floor and this storm rolled in from the sea.  It was like blackness overtook the sun and was the victor, right before our eyes.  I wrote this haiku in response to Rick Daddario’s prompt for today: thunder day.

I hope today your day is filled with sunshine and blue skies.

  1. aloha Kris – i like watching storms roll in from the sea. i’m awed i think because of how far we can see and the size helps give a perspective to the planet. very cool to see the people walking the beach too – again that size element. i like the photo. interesting line “thundering out the sunshine” – i’m wondering if you need “shine” on that? the thunder and sun certainly seem to clash in the sky – easy to see how human beings once saw that as god battle. a very cool experience to work from in your haiga. aloha.

    • Yes, I agree about sun versus sun shine. Interesting comment about “god battle” because watching the storm come in was rather violent – we noted. It was fast and furious, and you could see the darkness and the dropping wall of rain – and the preceding whirlwinds. Yes, you are so right. Thanks again for prompts and comments.

      • oh. yes. that dark wall of rain – beautiful. and the little whirlwinds. i am amazed when i can watch something like that. and from your vantage point – spectacular. yeah, even the violence you mention – the warm and cool air trying to sort things out – the world intrigues me. very fun. as long as you’re safe. aloha.

Would love to hear from you...
