Low Hanging Clouds

Every time I see clouds lower than the mountains, for whatever reason, I stand amazed. I find it so hard to fathom that there is land above the clouds, that perhaps if you lived at the top of the mountains you could not see anything. I, of course, get it – it is just that it is a weird concept for me. I know some of you folks who live in Colorado and on the mountaintops – know this phenomenon as normal, but for me, because we don’t have “mountains” nearby where I live and see, every time I see it, I have to stop and imagine what it is like.

I think there is a deeper contemplation in this haiga because sometimes we need to focus where we are and not towards the mountain tops (not that mountaintop experiences aren’t wonderful)…and sometimes we need extraneous variables (like clouds) to help us stay focused on where we are now. Just a thought.

Whether today is a mountaintop experience or one that is blocked by the clouds, may it be a day of you being present with you, and joy.

  1. Yes…I sometimes look across our valley and know there are mountains there…but where are they? I am here, in this moment and it is good. Love this post Kris!

    • Hi Jeannie, I was thinking of you when I wrote what I wrote…I remember being in Colorado Springs and not being able to see Pike’s Peak one day…thanks for your input and thoughts.

Would love to hear from you...
