Having Fun With Haikubes
A friend from Montana has been following my haiku/haiga blog. Check out her haiku that I included on January 20th on Friends’ Friday 3 (black box – Patti). She sent me this fun gift the other day and I wanted to share it with you.
There is a funny story to this gift, that she doesn’t even know yet… I was writing the other day and heard the doorbell ring. I did not get to the door in time, but heard the delivery truck pull away. I looked down on the step and there was this package. I knew I didn’t order anything, and there was no return address, but there was my name and address. I hesitantly picked up the package and felt that it was a hard cylinder. I studied the package, and honestly, was a little hesitant to open it, because of the size, feel, and my lack of knowledge about it. So I waited and thought I would call someone to be on the phone while I opened it, and of course, no one was home. So I bravely tore open the package and there was a white tissue paper covered hard, heavy box. I proceeded, finally, to open the package and was surprised to find this box of Haikubes sent from my friend. I know I was funny about opening it, but you know how you are sometimes.
So in honor of Patti, I share this haiku with you. What a wonderful surprise! Fun, too! Hope all of you enjoy spontaneity, gifts, care, and love today.
