Containment and Freedom
…and in that there is freedom!
Words have freedom when there is understanding. Words without containment have no meaning. I read this haiku to a friend yesterday (to see if it made sense) and she said, “I understand it completely”. So I thought I would share with you her explanation and interpretation – it is good. It is a little like being a child who goes off to play, and knows the safety and consistency of love and protection from her mother is there, and will be there when she returns – so it is with words. Regarding development, that is known as object permanence. If we don’t have comprehension than we can’t have freedom…it is in the containment of a word, that freedom in the knowing of that word can and will evolve.
