These are three of the five feral cats living in my neighborhood. My neighbor a few doors down has been feeding them, but did not take them in. I am not a cat fan – no offense to those who are – but it does bring me much pleasure to watch them, tumble, stalk birds, and make the woods their playground. My bird feeder is one of their favorite haunts. One of the two in the back sits between the bushes for extended periods of time and watches the birds – perhaps to find a meal, but he is not a great hunter. I think all of them need more lessons. He hangs out so much in the bush now, that the birds don’t even bother to move. I think they have come to accommodate each other. So as you see in this picture, basically they sit around and periodically tumble. I still don’t like that they are feral, but I am learning to enjoy them.
I took a little liberty with the haiku concept, but I thought it was worth it because of the picture…enjoy.
