Haiku: Came Seeking Ice
It was a frigid day on the beach of Blue Marsh Lake in Berks County, PA. Blue Marsh Lake is a man-made project to contain and regulate the waters flowing into the Schuylkill River. The waters are lowered during the winter in order to receive the melting snow from the mountains. During a good season, you can walk the shores and watch ice skaters, ice fishing, and even ice sailing, but this year, thus far, one only gets to see the gently, lapping waters. Yesterday, it was certainly cold by the water; an unbelievable difference between being on the shore and in the parking lot. With having only a few cold days, what more can I expect than a foot or so of lake ice. Hoping to see snow soon.
