About Me

Welcome, I am glad you stopped by.  I thought I would share a little bit about who I am and how I think…I love to write.  Writing gives me freedom to speak – whether anyone listens or not, I get to say it.  I find pleasure in writing children’s picture books, early readers, as well as, poetry.  I study life, energy, nature, and things (that is vague on purpose)…and I enjoy thinking and creating…through drawing, designing, taking photos, and cooking.

I love to be outside: snowshoeing, hiking, bicycling, and kayaking…and driving, like that Sunday afternoon drive to “nowhere” where you “get lost” and then find your way back home.

In my profession, I am an integrative psychotherapist. Many ask what integrative psychotherapy is.  Let me tell you what it means for me: I see the individual holographically as mind, body, and spirit. I believe in a quantum approach to healing; we are all energy, and energy is a part of all healing. I see my purpose as “being a healing coach”…holding space with the person for his/her own self-healing, offering guidance and integrating mind-body care to support the individual in coming to know who he/she truly is.  We have a God-given knowing of who we are, but through experience, life, relationships, challenges, trauma, we lose that true knowing.  My desire is to help others come back to their knowing.  I have the privilege of working with children, teens, adults, and families.   I also work specifically with trauma-related and attachment-based issues with both children and adults.

Most of all I am blessed to have you read this blog…please enjoy.

  1. Kris, I would like to share the Very Inspiring Blogger Award with you. If you accept, please find the award here. Your blog is truly inspiring and uplifting. Thank you for making my days and those of others a brighter place!

  2. Since I did not feel well enough to attend my worship services with my community this morning, I was led mysteriously (may not so mysteriously) to your blog and then to read your “about me” page. What a blessing, and just what I needed at this time. May you continue to create and inspire. I also want to direct you to a wonderful Children’s book writer and illustrator (you may have heard of her or seen her work in Cricket Magazine, where she was the staff artist tor many years. Her name is Jean Gralley, and you can fine her wonderful interactive site at: http://www.jeangralley.com It is a wonderful site to peruse, and believe it is right up your creative alley,

My best wishes and the gift if abundance of enough.

    Oauka

Would love to hear from you...
